IMAGINING PEACE
AN INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO PEACE

C.Wright Mills states that you can not understand a Persons Biography without understanding the history in which they lived.  This intersection between History and Biography is known as the Sociological Imagination.  It is with this perspective that we have begun a pathway about Imagining Peace Through an Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts Approach.

During the Summer of 2018 History professor Jeanne Petit and Sociology Associate Professor and Peace Studies Minor Director Pamela Koch worked with students Olivia Brickley and Halla Mass on a research project investigating the Vietnam Era at Hope Collete.  This project connects the social location of individuals with the history of Vietnam

Professor Koch has offered a Peace Focus rework of her Sociology 101 Introduction to Sociology Course.  This course focuses on students developing their sociological imagination by writing sociological biographies of Peace Activists.
